Hello and welcome! My name is Lorna and I created I am Jack’s Film Addiction in January 2017 as a way to channel my obsessive love of film. In case you haven’t already guessed, my blog name comes from Fight Club — my favourite film — so expect to see a lot of admiration for David Fincher on here.
I work as a freelance writer in the UK and the UAE and, aside from this, films take up a large portion of my time, whether that be watching or writing about them. As a lifelong cinephile, I am incredibly passionate about the medium, especially independent film and, as Audrey Hepburn once said, “everything I learned, I learned from the movies.” In my case… so true.
Film has shaped me in more ways than I could ever have imagined and they were an integral part of my childhood growing up. My aim with this blog is to explore classic and upcoming releases and to highlight the hidden gems of the film world. I love superhero films and summer blockbusters as much as the next person and I will review them on here but I will be paying particular attention to Middle Eastern and international films. I am also exploring television more and more because, let’s face it, we are in the golden age of TV.
When I’m not working, travelling or at the cinema, I occasionally contribute reviews and features for Cultured Vultures. I am also fairly active on Twitter @lornacodrai and I co-run the literary magazine, Vamp Cat Magazine. So if you would like to get in touch then please don’t hesitate to contact me for further information.
Enjoy my ramblings!
